A Knit Nite Farewell and Celebration

Last week, the knitting group I attend said adieu to one of its original members.  Meg was one of the first people I felt a connection with when I first attended, and I'll miss her severely as she moves to Pittsburgh.  I wish her all the best in her new endeavor, and hope that I get to go to Pitt to hang with her soon!  We met at (blogless) Rae's house, which is so very adorable knit under the trees.  It was a fantastic night.  The whole night was really something phenomenal, as it enforced why I loved knitting so much - it really is the comraderie that makes knitting so much fun.  That, and the awesome yarn.  But mostly comraderie.

Last night, we celebrated a special day with my favorite thing - sushi!

It was my birthday, and Rae's is on Sunday, so we doubly celebrated.  It was such a very fun night!  I want to send a warm thank you to Andi for thinking of it and "organizing" it, though she'll deny she did anything (MARTYR!).  What an awesome group of friends I've made through knitting.  I appreciate and care for them all so very much!

Through this all, I have, in fact been knitting.  I finished my Peaseblossom socks.  And I finished one of my Ellen's Half Pint Farm socks.  I love them both, and am almost happy that its 60 degrees today!  I can wear woolen socks :) ellenshalfpintsock2.jpg

I've also been working on a bag for a swap that I've joined - the small project knit kit swap.

I have to send this to Ingrid in  Holland.  I need to finish it tonight and felt it tomorrow so I can send it on Saturday.  It has a long way to travel.  I'm using the Noni tube baguette pattern, but I've modified it a bit.  I'm definitely creating my own stripe pattern and I'm not doubling the yarn (too thick in my opinion).  I love the colors and may end up making one for myself!  I can't wait to see how it turns out!
